I think it's about high time I get my system upgraded to windows 10. Planning on backing up and see what this 'in place' upgrade is all about.. or buying a SSD and an install disc and go that route. Decisions, decisions..

I would recommend the SSD and fresh install. This way any, however minor, issues with your windows install aren't carried over to the new operating system. There is also the fact that starting fresh will remove a lot of the other bloat you get over time. Finally, an SSD setup right is freaking amazing to work with. It was probably the best single investment I made in my rig when I rebuilt it.

True story. I love the hell out of my SSD that my Secret Satan got for me - one of my favorite things.

Been feeling like crap since the weekend so taking a sick day and take break from web dev. Right now going to get comfortable on the couch and turn on my playstation. Thinking about playing Dragon Age Inquisition but might go with Sacred 3 or Diablo 3.

Fairly humored of my July support task description - even more so now that I know other folk occasionally read them.

Quote

Summer support tasks, had me a blast
Summer support task happened so fast

Met a request; crazy to me
Met a story; complete as can be

Summer support tasks drifting away
To, uh oh, those summer nights

More drama, etc. Blah.

So I've been doing better so far about packing vs. spending money buying lunch. Other than that I've got nothing.

"Uhh a cool looking SQL snippet *copy, paste, run*". Forgot I was on the production database, now running a flashback snippet. Adrenalin lots of adrenalin and sweat after realizing what I just did..... It's my lucky day, it wasn't a database restore, but a snapshot of the past being viewed. I have no idea what went through my mind in the moment.

Need some excitement on your job? Run a flashback snippet :whistling:

reminds me of the smallest observable unit of computing time: the ohnosecond.

Which is that moment when you realize you just dropped that table from prod and not your test DB.

At this point I am dicking around. I have two tickets in QA that I am going rounds with.

If a tickets says, "I get this SQL error here."

I classify the ticket as complete if that error no longer occurs? Not, when it does everything else on your todo list?

I'm sitting alone in my office, sipping my coffee, eating a ridiculously unhealthy Hostess Pudding Pie, and lamenting how many years it's been since I last woke up in the morning feeling like there was a good day ahead of me. I miss that feeling. I miss that energy. I miss being 30. I'ma go finish adding this pie to my fat ass and feeling sorry for myself now. :dots:

Today I am to study JOINS and read through the ref book that our teacher provided. I have two chapters behind. Preparing for the MS SQL Server 2012 certification (70-461). I hope things work out.

That is the one that MS offers and so does the college that I go to.

I need one of these for MCSA, that's what my college offers
