I'll be so glad to go back to work next week. This last week of "vacation" while entertaining 4 children under the age of 13 has been extremely trying.

My current project is taking user input number of rooms, square feet of rooms, and cost per gallon of paint and providing an estimate for labor and paint cost. The program also includes validations to ensure the user is using valid numbers.

Company lunch made me ill. I feel like crap, and that means less productive. New company site rolling out Monday so the entire company was doing QA around it. 2 hours that I won't get back, an hour for the desktop validation and another for mobile. With the idea centered on switching to a CMS so IT doesn't have to update it when PR wants to make a change.


Other than that, time spent on 3 new reporting systems has consumed my day. Although, the business VP had an epiphany over the 'simple' thing he was asking. THAT was grand! The more he thought about it, the more he realized that it was going to be a 'hairy Carrie query' to get that values to trickle up grabbing local and parent data.


This weekend I am going to the firing range for some rest and relaxation, and some further work on the pi's LCD calibration.

first day back after a very long vacation. Went to my parents house for the 4th where we launched off more fireworks than we knew what to do with. Had one decide to jump the barrier and start shooting at the crowd. That was entertaining watching everyone run around dodging rockets. Then went to the other side of the state to a resort/waterpark for the remainder of the week. Had a blast, got myself some new tiger stripes from apparently not knowing how to properly apply sunscreen and died for the 2nd year in a row on the titanic. All in all it was tiring, but fun. Today starts a week of catch up and preparing for my new employees start date of next Monday. I still don't have any idea if/when his stuff is going to arrive. About all I have right now is where he is going to sit.
