Automatic File Embedding

Posted 24 June 2016 - 01:32 PM

Hello. I have a succesful upload script for my website, which transfers the images or videos uploaded into 2 upload folders. One for videos and one for images. I was wondering, is it possible for all uploaded images or videos, to be uploaded automatically each time a file is uploaded? I have absolutely no idea how to go about this, but I'm pretty sure this language is the right language for this.

:stupid: :stupid: Aha sorry. I want the uploaded images on the uploads folder to be automatically embedded into their corresponding page.
For example, there are 3 files in the image uploads folder, so those 3 images have been embedded into the Images page. Now, a user has come along and uploaded another image into the uploads folder, so now there are 4 images in total in the uploads folder. The image that has been uploaded has been embedded along with the other 3 images, that were already embedded.

Like a Facebook feed post. You press "Upload" and when you refresh your feed, it is embedded in the page.

Presumably uploading a file inserts a row into a database. the pages in question then would query that database when they load up, snag the relevant rows, and make the page display them. Basic PHP/ruby/python/asp.net sort of work.

We have quite a few tutorials on php (link found at the top of the page). Have you looked through those?

I checked out the snippets and the tutorials, but I found nothing of use. If I emailed Google, or Facebook, do you think they would help? I have heard of stories about them helping others with issues like this in the past... :detective: :bananaman: :helpsmilie: :online2long:

Ah, no. This is basic CRUD actions with a database and a server side language.

Example:

http://www.dreaminco...-your-database/
http://www.dreaminco...bsite-with-php/

I see, so how do I do something like what I intend to do? Or must I embed them myself?

Well.. that's the whole point of writing code, correct? Have a task, outline what you need to do, and start working on it.

In this case when your code is uploading save the file name and location in a database. then have a php page query the database and pull back those links. Finally, with the data returned, format the HTML to show the links.
