Well, you're going to have to use a javascript Pop_up link. Which should look something like this....

javascript:popUpHoriz('060171.htm','060171')

First you'll have to find a window that will fit your pictures. In this case the window was named "Horiz". If you would like an example of this effect it can be found here: David Lewis Photography

Go into the gallery, choose a category and click one of the thumbnail images. I would suggest using Internet Explorer to view this site.

If you need any further details just let me know.

On that particular site we used a few differnent sized windows:

<script language="Javascript">

<!-- hide from non-Java enabled browsers

function popUpVert(path,wname) {
newWin=eval("window.open('"+path+"',wname,'width=500,height=650,left=150,top=150,screenX=150,screenY=150,scrollbars=0,toolbar=0,location=0,status=0,menubars=0,resizable=0')")
}
function popUpHoriz(path,wname) {
newWin=eval("window.open('"+path+"',wname,'width=650,height=450,left=0,top=0,screenX=0,screenY=0,scrollbars=0,toolbar=0,location=0,status=0,menubars=0,resizable=0')")
}
function popUp(path,wname) {
newWin=eval("window.open('"+path+"',wname,'width=650,height=600,left=150,top=150,screenX=150,screenY=150,scrollbars=0,toolbar=0,location=0,status=0,menubars=0,resizable=0')")
}
function popUpVert2(path,wname) {
newWin=eval("window.open('"+path+"',wname,'width=600,height=650,left=150,top=150,screenX=150,screenY=150,scrollbars=0,toolbar=0,location=0,status=0,menubars=0,resizable=0')")
}

// end hide -->

</script>

I would suggest doing something like that... or if you can pull back the size of the picture using PHP (???) or javascript (???) you can then dynamically create the above Javascript with the width and height equal to your picture + 10 or so pixels... course I gotta find if there is a way to pull back height and width on a picture using PHP.
