Welcome to Dream.In.Code mak67uk! This is our meet and greet forum and not really for questions. In the future you might want to direct your questions to the appropriate forum. However I can write out a quick answer for you that should help you get started. Just be sure to ask your PHP questions in the PHP forum next time. :)

If you are into books I would recommend reading a book by Visual Blueprint for php that will help you get the basics under your belt and offers a very simple example on every page (almost as simple as writing hello world). I have provided a link below...

PHP 5: Your visual blueprint for creating open source, server-side content

As for online tutorials you could try the following link which is a wiki page all about PHP called "Practical PHP Programming". There is a lot of content there.

Practical PHP Programming - Wiki

You can also find a lot of information and examples/discussions about PHP at php.net. Use that site as a reference to look up function names and topics. They discuss how they work, give examples of their usage, and people have even posted tips on just about every function.

If you have any questions as you move along and can't seem to find the answer, that is where we step in and help you out. That is what we are here for!

Hopefully this reply will give you the answers you seek. Enjoy and let us know if you have any problems. :)
