Yea. Actually when we found it I thought it was VB6 (on literally just a glance), then we found a project file and all its pieces. So yea, I'm glad it's VB.NET at least.

Got word this morning that I am being promoted, and there is a backpay raise for last month as well as an additional raise starting January 1st.

That is all I have for now.

@astonecipher congratz man. Now can you have your people talk to my people so that I can get the promotion I was supposed to get 6 months ago?

Today I am in an all day meeting. We will be discussing every aspect of Team 2 and coming up with entirely new processes, SLAs, development standards, etc. This should be a fun time. Also have a christmas party today so a day full of unproductive fun!.

Super duper.. gotta figure out why a vendor was shooting us times that were greater than 23:59. Seriously?! Times like 24:12 and 24:50 are not things I should have to worry about.

An unknown dev that tanked the database causing our sprint to be delayed 4 days says during standup, I am working on x, should I just put that back in todo until the sprint starts?

Teamlead informs them, move it back in to backlog. The sprint hasn't started, I will notify you when I open it.

Dev walks over to TL, So I am just going to start the sprint, alright? I've been working on x and committed it, so I can't pull it out now.

We have no sprints, investigation over how bad the damage was is still going on and not only do you want to step over your boss, you want to tell him that you are taking on his duties as well, when you can't even handle your shit!?!?!? MORON!!!

And all of this is AFTER he blows up on someone because they refuse to shortcut testing his code. What level of stupid are you trying to reach?

App admin has a notoriously bad rep for deflecting as much work as possible or just making it so hard to deal with him that you end up doing the job yourself.
He gets assigned a job, he waits until said job is overdue and then passes it off to me(and informs the customer he is waiting on me) saying that the software doesn't work
It's old code fair enough but there are better ways to deal with things. Anyway, I handle peeved customer, re-write code, do all the right things and then it's time to test. Now, I know app admin would rather be raped by a rabid grizzly than try be of any use so I do the testing. I am getting successful responses from the vendor API but I would like to confirm in the front end of the app, so I ask admin "hey admin, what does a successful alias look like in the front end?".
He responds "Oh you know, I've never actually looked"

The fucker has been doing that job a minimum of two years, including running this aliasing software every quarter and not once did he verify that it worked in the front end.
