They had one of the idiot clowns reportedly shot. If it happened more I doubt there would be as many copy cats.

I've always been surprised that this never happened to the Jalal brothers, they do stupid pranks running around dressed up as "terrorists" (cause all terrorists wear hijabs (not sure thats what males wear but whatever), pretending to throw bombs or mock executions etc.

They don't get shot because they do this stupid crap in Australia (I believe). Nobody owns weapons for self defense there...so the natural selection process has been pre-empted.

B9, as far as I can see your choice at this point is not whether you self-medicate to get through the next eight years. The choice is just what medication you choose.

Today is shaping to be another day I should have called out of.

I come in this morning and the is a printed report on my desk with a note that says, 'come see me if there are any questions'

Well, yeah there are questions, you didn't say anything! The report is correct, shows all the data the PO requested. So, what is your issue with it AND why are you questioning it and NOT the PO?

Just finished write a nodejs script that runs a command on one of our linux boxes which returns a list of all currently running nodejs processes and their %cpu usage, %memory usage, processid, and their command path. It then takes that data and stores it in a database as historical data throughout the day which is then shown on a dashboard we can monitor.

For those interested, here is the command in linux that will get your that information so long as you follow the naming standards we do. (we always start our directory for our project with "node-")
ps -A -o pid,%cpu,%mem,cmd | grep /node- | grep .js

There's existing wireframe mockup sites.. like https://gomockingbird.com/home that could help give rapid layout prototyping a boost.

The wireframing isn't the problem - I'm pretty quick with that... it's the actual graphics for the design that give me fits. I am lacking in the necessary talents.

Yep. Gotta make the full pretty picture layout to present to the powers that be (bear in mind, these are medical professionals and higher ed administrators, NOT designers or developers... wireframes are just as confusing as lorem ipsum). Once I have three complete pretty pictures ready to go, we can present them to whatever thrown-together committee of non-techies has the final say in the final layout.

I think our school could use a bit more experienced network engineer because every day we have a college head walking to every class and personally whispering to our teachers, " The internet is having issues today."

But hay, I am from the No Internet / Dial Up era, so it doesn't bother me. Except today. Since I have no choice but to go online to work with Azure. So far I am still figuring Azure out. So far, I was able to create a simple web app and connect it to the Azure but I think I have to specify what URL am I going to be using and specify which page should it start with. So I am working on that part.

The racist lady was actually yelling at me for no particular reason. I got off the bus and stood in front of college to have a smoke and there she was.

The conversation went like.

Her: "Still mad at me?"
me: "...."
Her: "For what I said?"
me: "...."
Her: "That was suppose to be just conversation?"
me: "...."
Her: "Like you had with the others?"
me: " (walks in to the building.)"

I rarely have any of those "conversation," but if I start trusting someone and consider him/her my friend, I do have good "conversations."

That being said, I cant seem to recall that I had such "conversations" of the same type with someone else.

recovering from Florida

That was an interesting time. I had fun, but not because it was Florida. Don't think I'll ever go back unless something else compels me to go down, and I don't regret never having gone before. It stank, and it was hot. Some of the people were ok - St. Pete Beach(the neighborhood, not the beach) kind of reminded me of Cincy's west side. People were friendly and spoke with familiarity.

My friend's daughter drove us to the airport, and I gave her my card to put gas in her car for it. Sitting at the terminal I realized I didn't have my card and thought I'd been pickpocketed. Started to cancel it before I realized what happened and made sure she still had it. I have a second card and a second bank account, but I can't transfer funds over the weekend. So the first night I wasn't able to get our hotel, we wound up sitting on a beach all night and watching storms roll over the gulf. That was pretty cool.

Went into a branch the next day and manually transferred funds, all was well. Booked my hotel on hotwire and wound up paying $60+tax for a $130 room (per night). That was cool.

I'll probably never fly United again, though. That was a mess. Our itinerary was Cincinnati -> Chicago -> Tampa and then the same back. The flight from Chicago to Cincinnati got deleyed so hard I got pissed. Half hour, hour, I wouldn't have cared. Shit happens. Our 9am flight didn't start boarding until 12:30 Central. I could have driven from Chicago (when we arrived at 8) to Cincinnati and arrived home before the flight departed. I asked for a rental car instead, and settled on a reroute to Dayton.

And that's where it really got stupid...
