Holiday work party - what you do?

Posted 19 December 2007 - 03:50 PM

So what has everyone done for their holiday party at work?

Today we had ours and the director of my division IT took us all out to lunch and a movie (I am Legend). Pretty fun and they paid for everything along with the time we were their.

P.S. I am Legend was somewhat ok. Bad ending

We started off going straight from work to the pub at 5:30ish, then on to a restraunt for 7pm then back to the pub until about 1:30am.
I only paid for one round in the whole night the rest was on the company.

The best company do I ever had was with the company I worked for in the centre of London. They hired out a hotel in a town that goes totally Dickensian for Christmas (everyone in the town including all the shop keepers dress up in Dickensian garb). We had a free room for the night in the hotel and a meal and disco thrown in then the next day we spent the whole day wandering around town, it was great.

I took our folks to a local hotel where we'd rented out a large space. Dinner, open bar, dancing, and prizes for everyone from our various vendors. My name got drawn for the iPod Touch - but I had to put it back in the pot. :(

We had our company party in a clubhouse. I had too much vodka and now I have a killer sore throat. Ugh.

We're having another party tonight for our team though. And my sore throat won't stop me from partying! Wee!

we had our party at a Mexican food restaurant. They had the food set up sort of buffet style, although there were people serving you, kinda like a cafeteria. They had a two drink min, but I couldn't drink anyway because I am pregnant. They had games that == prizes (handheld playstations I don't know what they are called) one of the games was a list of holiday movie quotes...i sucked at that, and then another was to think of a great holiday gift to invent. The car tazer and adhesive christmas lights tied. I didn't stay long, once they played all their games and such I had to go get my kids, but we did have a good time, the food kept me up all night w/ heartburn though.

Belgian brasserie. The food was overkill. We've built a stonhenge from the pudding because no one was able to eat it (don't get me wrong, it was really tasty, but after that much drinks it was simply impossible)
After that we've went to a local night club, but we've spread out there, so I was soon out to my favorite pub. (and I did not sleep at home, but I am not complaining :P )

We went to lunch tuesday with the senior vp for the company. Today we're going to lunch as just the team here. We'll be doing a secret santa thing today, and I'm hoping that the gift gets delivered before the luncheon today. It was supposed to have been here Monday.

We went to the store, and ate lots of food that everyone brought, and my bosses gave me some gift certificates, and then we went and played football in 26 degree weather. It was overall very fun.

Our company is having a Holiday Potluck deal tomorrow, nothing too special except that we get to drink cheap beer on the job most of the day.
