Yeah, my manager told me my job changed and I'm not supposed to be doing manual, so instead of working on manual regression with them like I normally would, they think I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs. To be fair, my workstation has been jacked up and I can't even run my automation for the most part (maybe config issue) so I'm trying to debug that. They think there isn't anything to do automation-wise, but there's actually quite an insane amount for just the other automation tester and I (I'll call him OAT, for other automation tester). However, he's transitioning to a developer and is working on dev stuff half the time, so it's going to be just me owning all the automation suites for our tier-1 app. x__x

Sounds like there's a failure of communication in your area, and the word of your new duties hasn't quite gotten around. Maybe you should have a little "I'm not doing manual testing anymore" party. DQ and the gang could all wear hats, it would be GREAT

I'm pretty sure I remember that was exactly how this whole Drama Llama thing started.
So I've gotten some VMs on Digital ocean to run some sites I've got. It's definitely a learning curve as I've never had to do anything with linux outside of I think it's X12? or X11 or what ever they call their GUI. I'm working on installing nginx so i can host multiple applications in their own silo. I'm also going to be looking at openshift and docker. I really need to go back and get my *nix admin books and reread them. Lots of commands I just don't remember.

I am the gameplay programmer but I believe the artists used 3DS MAX for the majority. The game was made in Unity.

I thought I posted this last night but I don't see it so I must have closed the browser and gone to sleep instead of posting... Got in late last night from vacation. I was so exhausted. Drove from Michigan's Upper Peninsula to home. Stopped in St. Ignace for some frozen pasties to share, then Pinconning for a metric your mom of cheese.
There's a guitar tech in Cincy that I found out is from UP, I brought him a pasty, he's gonna hook me up with a free setup. Pretty awesome.
I don't know if I mentioned the date I was going on Friday on my way up to Michigan. That went absurdly well, way way better than I'd hoped, but now I'm just pessimistic and waiting to see what I do to fuck things up.
