When I was younger I lived in Michigan and we'd take trips to a place called Roscommon. On the way to Roscommon we'd stop in Pinconning to get cheese, crackers, and summer sausage.
Well I haven't been to Michigan (except for a couple funerals) in close to 20 years. I had no idea that Pinconning was on my route to my grandfather's house. I hadn't looked, hadn't thought about it - just met at my Aunt's in Detroit and headed up to Mickinac. The first sign I see for Pinconning I turned to my brother (riding with me) and say "call mom, call Christine, let them know we're stopping in Pinconning for cheese." I got a brick of Pinconning super sharp, had some of their 15 year aged Pinconning cheese, and they had all sorts of other cheeses too I loaded up on.

Today I learned there are web frameworks for R. I see that I shall be writing all my CMS, webforms, and web apps in R now.

Gross.
So, I got an email from the IM about a card I was working on that "gently reminded" me that "regression" is top priority (even though this card is overdue and high priority). >_> So guess who's working on manual regression now?

I would check with your boss or manager. Keep firm the boundaries!

Just got inspired by two 'artistic' twitter bots I came across. Quick, to the whiteboard for furious scribbling!

Moving day!
So I'm fairly certain the sickness I've had since September is from the building I work in. I've had a constant cough since I got sick after I started working here, and it just hasn't gone away. I noticed the other day that my cough is gone - and this is the first time I've been out of the building for more than a weekend at a time.
So glad we're moving today. People are hauling crates back and forth, I've got a bunch of labels for my stuff, it's gonna be a busy day. It's good to be back I guess.
Here's hoping the new building doesn't have death in its walls and drop ceilings.

Last night's Stephen Lynch show was awesome - easily earned a spot in my top five most fun concerts of all time. If you're not familiar with Mr. Lynch and you enjoy macabre, twisted, inappropriate, musical humor, I highly recommend him! Think 'depraved love child of Weird Al and Neil Young'...

Stupid 65 degree GreatPlains weather in the middle of February. The higher ups should praise me for dragging my ass back in from lunch and not just wandering off home.. or to take a hike around a lake... or basking out on the porch with a book.

I will be working from home this weekend if there is any hope of hitting our Feb 27 (*new) deadline for release. I am hoping that it will not be too bad, but I also know better.

The testers are backing off now that they know they have another week (despite me telling them for weeks that they have time). Gawd I can't wait until we get our new test lead. We're also getting a new tester on Monday, and he has nowhere to sit.

In addition to a Complexity Theory sequence being run from the math department, our theorist in the CS department wants to run a class on Quantum Computing in the fall! So I know what my schedule is looking like for next semester.
Also, at happy hour yesterday, my algebra professor approached me and offered to run algebraic combinatorics in a future semester! Seriously- my department is amazing.
You mean like this one? At $20, I'd jump on that!
