Securing WebApi endpoints using windows authentication

Posted 30 March 2017 - 08:44 PM

Hey everyone, I am working on trying to secure a webapi endpoint using windows authentication. In the database, I don't have any usernames or first/last names, but I do have active directory guids.

I am trying to use the Authorize attribute for the time-being so that only users who exist within the database with their AD guid can access those endpoints. How would I go about that?

I assume the first step would be is to create a Database context? Would I then have to update the Global.asax file as well or the app_start? Would I need to do a filterconfig class? I've been doing research on this but all of the examples I have been finding are for creating logins/registering a user.

Any insight would be very much appreciated. Thank you!
