Hosting for Training/Practice?

Posted 23 November 2017 - 12:05 PM

I just recently got to the point where I am starting to learn to develop a website from scratch.

I am learning Flask with Python for web development, but I have some issues about the hosting.

I need to have a hosting in order to be able to follow up any tutorials to learn to develop a website, which is kind of a problem cause every Hosting site recommended by the tutorial is paid.

For many many many reasons outside my control I am currently unable to pay for any good hosting site, so what do you guys thing I can do about it?

Is there any free website hosting service around? I don't care if the page is not actually hosted or you cannot share it, but I do need for it to let me use: SSH (Like Putty) and SCP (like WinSCP). Or one service that lets me use SSH through it somehow. Also the tutorial I follow works with Ubuntu 14.10.

Are those too tight requirements? Do you have any recommendation that can bypass all of that?

I also got the recommendation to host locally but I was told that as a beginner it would be a nightmare. Anyway, hope you guys can help me and that I am not asking for too much. Another question is, lets say I do have ONE service that I can pay for hostings, should I ask before if they let me use SCP and SSH? Or should I assume by default they all have the requirements available?

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

Maybe because I don't know what it is. Care to tell me, x3.

Fire up the Google, young padawan. You've got plenty of search terms. You'll find that they are packages of other software that you might find useful.

Thanks everyone. For now I'll go into Pythonanywhere and try with XAMP/Wamp later when I wanna go in depth.

Asking a company for free hosting, with shell access (also for free) is a tall order. That's been ruined 10x over by spammers.
