A new game theory algorithm simulates soccer matches

Posted 22 January 2018 - 02:36 AM

Hello. I came across one article in which the author talks about the algorithm for generating a football match - http://www.iaees.org...cer-matches.pdf

So I tried to do this, but I have a problem with the formula for generating the number.

Quote

Let’s suppose that we want to simulate, for a single
action, the battle between MS of team 1 and MS of team 2. Soccer-Decoder produces a random number R1
between 0 and MS1. R1 is sampled from a statistical Erlang’s distribution

Maybe someone can describe me what this formula means and which variables I must substitute?

Erlang distribution

What, specifically, about the formula do you not understand?
What code do you have?

I calculate middle/offensive/def (it is not important now) skills of first team and second team and they are in the variables $ms1 and $ms2 respectively.
For example :
$ms1 = 45;
$ms2 = 50;
How can I get this random number that is mentioned in the article? What should I substitute into B, m , x, a , e ?

I just try to edit my own post and systeam created new. So, can you help me with this formula?

The formula proposed by Dr Alessandro Ferrarini.

Is not given in its entirety,

Dr Alessandro Ferrarini has a commercial product

called Soccer-Lab I would think it quite remiss of him to give away all of his secrets.. ;)

You could however create your own Erlang distribution formula...

http://mathworld.wol...stribution.html

which given some careful thought and game analysis could be just as good...
