Security flaws in AMD's Ryzen/Epyc Secure Processor and Chipsets

Posted 13 March 2018 - 02:12 PM

See amdflaws.com and
AMD allegedly has its own Spectre-like security flaws

Personally, the CNET title is meant to be clickbait. On further reading of the article and the actual flaws website setup by CTS, as well as the whitepaper, describing the flaws as Spectre like is a disservice to the reader. The flaws are more in line with the Intel remote management and secure boot flaws.

As much as I'm pissed off at the unfairness of CTS only giving AMD less than a day to respond to the flaws (as reported by CNET), I can understand why CTS decided to not wait 90 days. After 90 days, it would be too late -- malware would have already had a chance to embed itself deep into the system.
