SVG PacMan

Posted 17 March 2018 - 02:27 AM

After just three weeks of studying the w3schools tutorials, I came to the idea that I could easily make a PacMan playable on smartphones by combining Javascript and SVG. And somehow, I succeeded at that. You can see it here:
SVG PacMan
So, there you go. If you look at the source code, you can see some 550 lines of macaroni code with no comments and with many unspeakable variable names.

I've spent some time improving the code, as well as the user experience. I am planning to publish a book about linguistics, and there will be a section about programming languages. I will use the snippets of the code of that PacMan game as an example of what game code looks like. Or would you recommend me (and explain) a better example of what game code looks like?
