Two A Records to redirect domain to my IP?

Posted 04 May 2018 - 01:27 AM

I'm not sure I'm doing it right:
I got a public IP, 12.123.123.12, and I want that when I enter my domain name in the address bar: domain.com, it will redirect to the actual website at 12.123.123.12. So I first set an A record with the IP 12.123.123.12 to redirect to domain.com. But I also wanted that www.domain.com will be redirected to 12.123.123.12, so I created another A record with www.domain.com. Is that the correct procedure? Or I need perhaps an A record and another type of record for www?

Thanks

Usually you would use a CNAME record to point other domains to the same IP, a CNAME says that www.domain.com should use the same record as domain.com. That way you only have the IP listed in 1 place.
