New to "IntelliJ IDEA" IDE and having issues

Posted 31 May 2018 - 04:29 PM

I am new to "IntelliJ IDEA" IDE and having issues. I am able to load the code into the Integrated Development Environment, "Eclipse" without any issue. But there seems to be an issue with links.

To cut to the chase, let me ask this. What does " ... which is not in the module graph" mean? At the top of the java code file, the IntelliJ environment has issues with my import statements. The error messages say:

"Package 'the package name listed in the import statement' is declared in module ... which is not in the module graph".

Please advise. How do I make these link and build errors go away.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

Sounds like a Java 9 way of saying your imports are not in the classpath

Does the project have a module-info.java file? If so, you should be able to click on the red text and press Alt+Enter to have IntelliJ add the required lines for you. However, if the dependency should be transitive or static, you'll have to add that bit yourself.
