ok, welcome to dreamincode.. but.. instead posting over and over, simply click 'edit' on your first post.. and add in anything.

second, to learn more about frames and such, go here http://www.pagetutor.com/

now a days, very phew design whole websites in a plain text editor such as notepad. Usually only tweaks r done within notepad.

So, i suggest you check out Macromedia Dreamweaver. Its a very popular program to lay out your designs and what not.

anyways, hope this helps.

If you want to use a text editor you should discard notepad and take a look at edit plus. I use it almost exclusively (although I open dreamweaver to make and edit complex tables). Edit plus has color coding and quick text packages for virtually all available coding languages, it lets you set up default pages and macros and has a built in browser (I never use the browser).

you'll need to experiment with the different plug in packages to see what you like, for instance the autocomplete features get annoying in PHP because I can't type and when you're looking at the keyboard you don't notice that the function is already completed and you wind up with count();nt(); or something similar.

I have Adobe GoLive which is FAR superior to Dreamweaver but not as easy to use. I like using their built in text editor because it makes things so easy. :)

It's true. Name one thing that Dreamweaver can do better than GoLive.

Its more the way golive is setup and organized that isnt as good.
Why do you think MANY designers choose dreamweaver over golive..
Its not cos golive is complicated- heck i took a computer course last term.. one area was golive.. and i TAUGHT THE TEACHER.. but education system is another topic.

Anyways, Seriouslly, i think its the way golive was organized. (havnt looked at the app in months) but i think that was my big issue. (with tables and all) (how you can expand them and shit)
