Haha, I like the more tame artwork for it. When it goes sexual, I am no longer interested. I find it sort of like Dark Link, sometimes taking a character that is one-dimensional and giving them a dark side can breathe some fresh air into them.

Now, the side-spawns of Booette, Koopette, Goombette, Chompette, etc. are far less interesting to me... plus most of them I have seen are Lolli which is not something I have ever understood.


In other news, I am prepping a horror-themed oneshot for Halloween which should be interesting. I was originally going for 5e rules, but then I realized that there may be 10+ people playing the game, and I don't know how familiar all of them are with the rules; so I wrote up a _super_ simplified ruleset where the core rules and character sheet take up the front of a single sheet of paper.

Each person is going to get their character sheet, a "party invitation", and a "fan letter" in an envelope when they arrive (they will get to select one based off of character name, no other information). I have also purchased sealing wax, and am planning on sealing them with an pentagram of some sort if I can find a stamp for that... they probably exist, I just am not sure I want that on my Amazon history.

I am also toying with the idea of having the entire thing mundane - where it is just a crazy serial killer that is behind all of the deaths at the party instead of having it supernatural. We will see which way I finally go with it though... I still have a few weeks.

I'm so done with my one coworker, he's like the reason I'm not even upset I can't go to lunch anymore (he's the one I used to kinda have a crush on). He's a total dick. I don't even talk in the rare occasions I do go to lunch because of him. Everything I say he has to argue with. Like, I finally decided to contribute to the conversation by telling about a story I read online of a Turkish firm making fake life vests that absorb water instead to give to refugees. It sounded, in the article when I read it, that it was intentional, and they were just trying to kill off refugees. He countered this by saying "how do you know this? How do you know that? What if they were this?" I'm like "I'm just telling you what the article said last night." So he sits there and reads a bunch of articles online, which obviously are going to have more info now that the story is more fully developed than when I read it. He had a big huge argument about how what I was saying was misleading and that if I was gonna say something at least make sure it's the truth. It was what it was last night, and I just said what it was last night wtf? I just left lunch early. Not the first time. I could say "the sky is blue" and he would sit there and argue about how it's actually "blue-ish gray" and what do I have against gray and who said what classifies as blue vs gray and who decides boundaries on color. He's that fucking annoying.

Made it to work, didn't think I would. In bed at 4am and sent a text out at 2 that I wouldn't likely be in. So, today will be a noon til (6 or 8) depending on my mood as the day progresses. I can't figure out an error on the shipping system and it's bugging the crap out of me. The whole thing sucks.

A potential ray of hope on the home ownership front.

I emailed my employer's benefits office to ask if there was some sort of form or something I could submit to be allowed to withdraw from my retirement for a housing purchase. The Benefits guy responded that he can see my denied request and that it looks like it was simply coded wrong when it was submitted and if I resubmit it with the correct coding, it shouldn't be a problem to withdraw the money.

I'm trying desperately to NOT get my hopes up in case it doesn't pan out again, but here's hoping!

I have now been up for 35.5 hours and have a Unioned query and a record that should trigger both sides of the Union. Not only is it only triggering one side, but the side that is failing is failing for everything and they are the exact same query just against different tables. I feel like I'm about to cry... My day ends in 30 minutes and I hope to Christopher that it's just that I am too tired to see what is right in front of my face... I have been trying to find the fault in this thing for the past 2 hours...

Update: I guess I fixed it... I was being blind as all get out.
