Big Ball of Mud Architecture

I stumbled on the following treatise. I'm still in the process of reading, but the first few pages has been very interesting is refreshingly grounded in reality rather than being stuck in an ivory tower. It's dated from 1999, but it feels still very relevant to today's software development landscape.

It has been brought up a number of times in my Architecture books. Pretty descriptive to what most of us have either walked into or created.
