exploring software for 3d game development.

Posted 30 September 2018 - 05:26 PM

Yup i am joining the dark side.

I have app development down pat in terms of getting information, executing and loading activities and such. Now...im curious...what software does game developers use to design the models, attack skills and other game functions and how exactly would you implement these?

this should get you started. Xamarin and VS are a huge IDE but very very beginner friendly and very very crispy (if you ask me).

Visual Studio and Xamarin are Free AFAIK as long as you're not selling the app. Then you have to pay them, AFAIK

The installer will ask what you want to install, install everything, all 37GB then make sure to run the updates.

I would suggest using an existing game engine.. Unity, Unreal, Cry, etc. (I have a preference for Unity.)

3d Modeling - Blender always worked well for me.

Instead of selling the app you make it frewe to play and then just make them buy ingame currency.

No.. freemium games are just a money grab. VS licensing to use/software to sell is rarely an issue unless you are a company or making crazy money.

For me, games are secondary to IRL technology that will feed and benefit humanity. Just open source your code and let the world do the rest. If you're looking to get rich, I'm not the guy to listen to. I'm just saying VS is FREE and fricken sweet. It would be very easy for an aspiring dev to dip their toes into mobile app development using the links I posted. Money comes with creation of something that people love and enjoy. It will come, if you're a good dev.

and also if I got rich off VS or any software / help I would share the wealth (with MS and helpful devs). We need to share with those who support our growth IMO
