Deploying a website internally on Azure

Posted 23 October 2018 - 07:05 AM

My company is working on removing all on-prem servers and moving exclusively to the Azure Platform. At the same time, we still need a solution to deploy internal websites that are run on local IIS. Is this possible with Azure? Does anyone know?

Never tried it, but this may help your search for an intranet solution.

This seems to be on the right path, but a key part of this is being able to access the internal site using a url such as url/ and have no authentication at all. having to type in www.url.com/ isn't the end of the world, but isn't ideal. Try telling a bunch of suits they have to change their typing habits :gun_bandana:

Yeah - that maybe where the Active Directory login rabbit hole pushes you.

Azure isn't going to host the sites locally however. I don't know if you can set a firewall for accessing them, though it sounds like that is what you are after.

Firewall? That is my keyword for, not my problem anymore :) I wrote the site, but IT gonna have to figure out how to fight that battle!

I'm a bit late to the party on this one but...

You can IP restrict sites on Azure. If your office has a static IP address then that might work for you.

I've had tonnes of fun working from home, continually whitelisting my dynamic IP address on the Azure portal. :/
