Jekyll Blog on GitHub pages

Posted 25 October 2018 - 09:09 AM

Hi, I recently finished working on my new blog and projects site. It uses a custom Jekyll theme that I significantly modified from Cayman. I am trying to start writing a blog post once a week and just released my first one yesterday.

So I am looking both for feedback on the blog post and the site theme itself.

Thanks

Static sites are becoming much more common now and are quite simple to make, particularly with the help of a static site generator like Jekyll.

FFS - has the snake wrapped around and is now eating its own tail? What is old is new and new is old! :D

Your https is broken and needs to be fixed.I proceeded with the http version

The site is fast since it is static and hosted on jekyll.

I like the layout, speed and navigation.

The site lacks designwise though. This theme is okay if you were an older site but its outdated for a site in 2019. I would suggest you play around with design typography and colors.

Have a good day!
