RX460 GPU Issue

Posted 02 November 2018 - 10:44 PM

As of recently my rx460 gpu has been acting up. When I update it with a new driver the display shuts off hence forcing me to use my cpu display, but when I roll it back to its previous driver my gpu displays again. However, when I restart my desktop after rolling the driver back the display for my gpu shuts off again. I have tried researching this issue but have not been able to fix this problem. Any tips or fixes is appreciated.

Have you tried the driver version just before the most recent one? Sometimes video card makers will put out drivers on the cutting edge without fully testing. Getting the one that was just before the latest version can be more stable than the most recent one. Worth a try. The problem you experience sounds like a bad driver. It happens from time to time as video card makers try to be first to market with the best features... again without doing very good testing.

OS is Windows 10 home, no custom coolers, no jacked up res, it shuts down when I either update the driver or restart my desktop.

Try the slot with a different card. See if that affects it.
Are you certain your power supply is can handle it? Has all the power connections done right?
What's the make and model of the card?
ARe you using AMD's driver detection, or from some forced install?
