How to search for a row in a dataset?

Posted 23 December 2018 - 05:01 PM

I'm starting to play with datasets in VB.NET, I can import a database created in Access to Visual Studio, but how can I search for a specific row in a dataset?

Just a simple textfield should suffice.

I've seen multiple tutorials, but some of them seem to be too complicated.

The most direct is to change the 'row filter' on a data view.
https://docs.microso...framework-4.7.2

The theory being..

data set -> (is data source to) data view -> (is data source to) data grid.

Perhaps you might be looking for the DataTable.Select method?

Its not really my area, but I believe its what you need. Something to note is that it will require an array as it returns an array of DataRow Objects.

You can get an example usage here https://docs.microso...ataTable_Select

Hope it steers you in the right direction.
