(How) does this website work for you?

Posted 26 January 2019 - 08:46 PM

Hi!

I have updated my own website.
It's to advertise my webdevelopment-services. :)/>

I'd like to have critics/feedback on the following subjects:
  • Does the website load fast for you? (<3sec ?)
  • Does it scale nicely to your screensize/resolution? (responsive)
  • Do you immediately know about what it goes? (if you speak Dutch)
  • What do you think about the design?
  • How annoying are the fade- and slide-in effects? (from 0 .. 10, 10 being annoying)
  • Would you trust a webdesigner with that website?
  • Would you consider contacting that webdesigner? Or rather look further?
  • Easy to use?
  • Other things?? Let me know!

It's still not officially released, some URL's still are broken and some images will still be added. But wanted feedback before announcing it on social media.
WEBSITE

Thanks!

1. Yes. The website loads fast and is silky smooth for me. The speed and smoothness is one of the first thing that popped out for me. Great job!

2. Yes

3. No. I don't speak dutch.

4. Not too happy with the color combinations above the fold. Second, I did not even know there was stuff below the fold until I went on the portfolio page and wondered where the portfolio was. I feel you could guide the visitor a little bit

5. Love the fonts, fade in effects etc. Not at all annoying for me.

6. Yes

7. I would look further. I am not too happy with the portfolio. All websites feel flat and not creative enough or different enough. Why is a site like https://baltropical.be/ticket/ this on your portfolio? How does it showcase your skills? The other sites also felt flat for me. You could also use better UI on your portfolio page.

8. Easy to use but use design to show theres content below the fold too.

Sorry if I was rude or hurtful above

@ressurecttesseract Thanks for your feedback!
4) Your point is totally valid. It indeed looks like some pages don't have content below the fold. I should add an arrow pointing down or something. So you by the way have a suggestion for another color combination?

7) Understood, I had little-to-none professional experience when making some of the websites in the portfolio. I hope I'll be able to add some stunning websites to the portfolio soon!

And https://baltropical.be/ticket/ is a very known local party where I (and most of my clients) live. It attracts a few thousand visitors each year, I made the online ticketing system for that party. It was more to showcase my technical skills (PHP, Databases, performance) than design-skills.

Your feedback was really helpful!

Thank you O'Neil. It is great to see you take the feedback so positively. I have no doubts you would have a great portfolio of awesome website designs in future. Best of luck! :)
