Wireless Card Issue

Posted 03 February 2019 - 04:28 AM

Hi,

On my relatively new PC, my wireless card just refuses to connect.

When I ping, it just doesn't do anything. If I try flushing my DNS, it won't complete.

This is intermittent, after a few minutes, the connection is restored.

Does anyone know what this could be?

Cheers

What hardware? What operating system? Have you tried putting the card in a different slot/port (assuming it's not built in to the motherboard of course)? What about trying a newer version of the driver?

Hi, Sorry for my vagueness!

It's Realtek 8821AE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC

Attached Image

The hardware is built in to the motherboard.

If I use a wired connection, I do not experience the issue; I used the TP-Link Powerline ethernet plug which works great. Since becoming a parent, the only accessible plug for the router means my 18-month-old can tear it to pieces so this is no longer an option.

Cheers

Did you try a driver update already? It looks like you're using Windows and I don't use that OS, so don't know how to debug problems on it - I'll leave others to help you out here.

Also, there's no need to quote the previous post in full - just use the "Reply" button.
