QCL Language

Posted 04 February 2019 - 07:37 PM

I am trying to find a book to learn Quantum Computing Language (QCL), like other books out there that teach C++, and Python, etc. Unfortunately I am really striking out. I am an absolute beginner, and everything I've found is really advanced and teaches more about how quantum computing works than about QCL.

Anyone know where I could find basic beginner programs that explain the whole program from start to finish, and stuff like that? I'm fairly proficient in C++, but this is just beyond me to learn without a book and examples to tell me what's going on in some examples. Thanks for any help! I am more than willing to buy books, so if you know of anything that's out there it doesn't have to be free tutorials.

There's things like Q#.

Thanks for the response- some of that looks helpful with regard to understanding some of what's going on with quantum computing languages. More fundamentals and less masters level math like I found in the book Foundations of Quantum Programming.

Unfortunately, all three of those are for Q#, and the project I'm hoping to help with is specifically QCL. I have asked the person on the team who was directed to help me, but he just told me to look at the programs in our QCL directory. I looked, but I don't understand the language. I need to play with it and do examples to learn...

So QCL like this?

.. or a python version like this?

I would think this team or what ever would have more base information.. The issue with quantum computing and programming is a lack of standards in the language.. or even _a_ language.

QCL like the first one. That's exactly what we are using. I am also going to try again to ask the grad student who's supposed to help me. I mean, he learned it somewhere, right??
