operation flash point is compatable with xp , just gotta get the patch i think , becuase i know i have played it on xp pro , and for your card , i would seek the manufacture and chew them out , not windows , even know m$ has its shitty points in their OS's i think XP is the best yet , and i had the same problems , i had to get drivers for almost everything i owned , and i gave away my old CF card reader becuase it wasnt compatable , but it all comes down to having some pashence , nothings perfect

IM GOING BACK TO MY COPY OF 98
Screw 98. Get crazy with this mojo. The fluffiness of XP and the stability of linux?

Something about this feels... dirty.

Man, turn that around. Stability and Compatableness of WinXP, non-fluffiness of Win98
XP Classic Mode.
The only thing I don't like about XP is that ugly bubble theme.

I was referring to this crazy build of linux that looks just like XP and has the same fluffy interface. It's pretty messed up. Check it out (links above)

ummm... why didn't you make sure your wireless card was XP compatible before you bought it? 802.11b is supported by XP... but if the Mfg wasn't able to write a M$ approved driver for it then you're better off not using it. i'm sure you could force it in if you wanted to. they prolly have beta versios of an XP driver that's not digitally signed. might want to contact their support.
perhaps you should have gone with a "name brand" like 3Com. they would have been a bit more pricey... but hell dude, you shelled out $ for the OS... least you could do would be to buy decent hardware. then again perhaps if you were running an "evaluation" copy of XP you could have afforded the card that works in Xp...
try forcing it in... try running the installer in compatibility mode... try installing the 2k driver... you may have to browse for it manually and windows may tell you the driver is not made for this version of windows... but it's worth a shot. make a restore point before you get too crazy. what do you got to lose?
