I would love to work on a game project. I can program in multiple languages, and I can do OpenGL. I'm also (slowly) teaching myself to make models in Blender, and I can make some decent vector art.
My only condition is that the game has to be open source. Come up with some ideas, register a project page for it at Sourceforge, and come back here; I will be glad to join.

That sounds like a great idea. While I've never done a Sourceforge project before, I'd like to jump in on one!
Make the project, post it here & I'll join as well.

Count me in as well. I have limited programming experience (still learning data structures), but I'd be up for helping with brainstorming, and helping to debug. Just let me know which language you are thinking of using, and I'll try my best to get up to speed on it.

Also, we should use some kind of code revision system. Sourceforge provides both CVS and Subversion (SVN) servers. I've used both, and my IDE (Eclipse) supports both, so I have no preference really.

Or we could just use this thread.
-------------------
Things we need to decide on before any work can be done.
Genre - I have no problem with making an RPG, but combining the elements of an RPG and an RTS does not (in my opinion) work very well.
Platform - Whatever language we use, it should be cross-platform. This doesn't seem to be a problem right now as we seem to be focused on either C or Java.
Language - I honestly would prefer to do it in C, and I have almost a working engine in C. Rewriting it wouldn't really be hard, but I'm not sure it would be worth it. I can deal with Java though if that's what we decide on.
-------------------
Things to discuss in general.
Name - The project name being TTNA is fine, it's kind of like a codename, but we should come up with a better name further on down the road.
Website - Sourceforge provides free hosting for a project website, with PHP support and numerous mysql databases. I'm pretty fluent in both PHP and HTML, so I could put together the site if you guys want, but it would detract from me working on other things.
Art - I am not an artist. If we really want our game to stand out, we need to find someone with some decent graphics making skills.
Story - We should start work on general story for the game. The most important part of an RPG is a good story.
Audio - I know of a few sites that provide public domain music (as in, we can use it legally for whatever). Most of it's not too bad. We'll also need some sound public domain sound effects (that is, unless one of you is a musician
-------------------
Also, I think it would be helpful if everyone could list their applicable skills and development environments.
Myself- Fairly fluent in C, Java, Lua, OpenGL. I can do some limited 3d modeling/texturing in Blender (working on learning animation), and I can make some basic textures in Inkscape/The Gimp. I have no musical talent whatsoever.
I use Eclipse on Debian Linux for nearly all of my programming. For HTML/PHP I'll usually load up GNU Emacs. I have access to Windows machines as well, but I don't like using them.

Genre: RPG is good but it doesnt really go with an RTS. Ive got no ideas at this point but ill post when I do
Platform: Now what sort of platform are we talking about here? Game platform? lol
Language: C and Java are both good languages I would honostly like it to be Java but I guess its upto the coders choice.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: I agree with you but until we decide on the game type we cant really choose the name.
Website: Well a good game needs a good website so I think we should make effect of the website that we have been provided with.
Art: I can do some graphics for the website but I aint the best I can tell ya that.
Story: Another thing that we cant really decide until we work out the type of game.
Audio: Heh, I play eletric guitar? Lol, I think we should stick to the websites that give us he music.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alright here is goes:
Myself- New to all the coding stuff recently started off by learning some HTML. I am going to be an Author when I am older and have time to work on my first book. That should help us with the story line. I have done a bit of graphic design for websites in the past but whenever I made a website I always made the graphics and used Webpage Maker.
That should be everything from me in the computer world. I am probably be the most useless out of the group but... That happens when you dont learn code sooner.

And "platform" means OS or console, depending on whether you're making a PC or console game. So... Windows/Linux/OS X/Solaris/BeOS... Or Xbox 360/PlayStation 3/Wii/GameCube....
And after you decide RPG/RTS/FPS/TPS/Racing/Whatever, then you should focus on getting a storyline drafted, and some of the major plot points marked.
Just my (rather oversized) .02 USD.
