The fact that there's a food called spotted dick implies another food that's just called dick. I wonder if dick is also cake-like or something completely different.

Given it is a food of my old country, I feel I can say with some authority that spotted dick is the mutts nuts. I really should learn how to cook more stuff from my home country... though I've never been spectacular at desserts

Returning to the nominal subject of this thread, I've been trying to get myself at least a little bit of movement in the mornings. On days when I wake up in time, I typically do about 20 minutes including some yoga, some pushups and situps, that sort of thing. Because the Other is into Spartan races and kung fu and stuff, there's a pull-up bar installed in my house. I broke out the bathroom scale and discovered this morning that if I weighed 150 pounds, I'd actually be able to to at least one pull-up.
Sadly, I weight somewhat more than that at the moment, but it's an interesting thing to know.

EDIT: Also, looks like the weather has turned - over freezing and no precipitation expected - so unless my bike has suffered severe bit rot over the winter, I suppose I'll be riding to work.

Whilst I am certifiably incapable of doing anything in the mornings, we have a gym on site for our subdivision that my girlfriend and I would like to start going to after I am off work. The issues being that neither of us have clothes we could work out in and I've not shaved my legs since winter made it appropriate to wear pants and I'm not sure I am ready to start doing that again just yet...

I haven't shaved my legs since my wedding. We'll be married two years in June. He just pets me and tells me I'm warm and fuzzy. Because he's awesome like that. I'm fat and lazy. I don't have the energy to shave. Perhaps losing a few pounds will bring back some semblance of the energy of my youth and I'll suddenly feel the compulsion to tame the Wookie once more. Or maybe I'm just middle aged and married and hairy is simply how things are now.

I don't understand the link between shaved legs and fitness. Unless you're wearing the kind of pants that tear the little buggers out by the roots. My wife only ever bothers with the leg shaving thing if bike pants are required because, well, either way the hair comes off.

I was unable to find chain lube - I know I have a bottle somewhere - so I took transit instead of the bike.

Did not shave my legs.
