API Help - college/uni API

Posted 25 April 2019 - 05:27 AM

Hello Fellow Programmers,

I am currently working on my latest idea, I know there are many websites that check for Student status these days, i was wondering if there is an API (Written in any language) for this already just to save me coding it myself.

Another bit of information i will need in terms of education establishments is a list of colleges/universities. is there an API that get's updated for this.

Thanks in advance for your help
Jordan

Which student status?
For which establishments? In which country?

The answers to these questions would also drive your search terms.

Hello,

The API needs to be generic eventually however an UK based one will provide functionality for now as i'm only developing a proof of concept currently.

Student status: many websites use student emails to confirm that they are indeed a student, such as Microsoft, student beans just to name a few. it means only students can access the service

Establishments: I need a list of all education establishments, currently available, this will need to be accessed from a retributable website where i can periodically request to update my data (that bit i can do i just need to find the source.)

I have currently searched a lot of various terms to try and find something suiting the needs but so far still haven't found anything

Thanks
Jordan
