I think it depends on what you set your news filters to be. For example, I didn't even know that we recently had some major stock market roller coaster rides in the US, but I sure do know about going ons with SpaceX.

Just like I know nothing about what's happening with SpaceX, but I do know Raytheon and United Technologies are merging.

I mean, dude browses Reddit iirc, it was totally on the front page. It was the #1 trending topic on Twitter and FB, probably IG also.

I browse reddit, nothing about tornadoes on my front page... so it is plausible.

I read the Times. Up on all that shit, plus the British PM race.
Also, the Globe for local stuff that none of y'all care about, but that cat is out of the tree in Scituate.

In other thoughts - always a little weird? amusing? weirmusing? when you see a recently created account, no posts (which means they can't PM you), looking at your profile, and you seem them in the 'talent acquisition' arena.

Got the little one signed up for a basketball day camp, despite the registration cut off being June 7th, by just being super English about it.

Have to go out for a "Team Building Experience" now, which I really cannot be arsed with...

Escape Rooms make interesting "Team Building Experiences"... My current team which has melded very well over the past 7 years did our first escape room a year ago. None of us had ever done one before, and the proprietor was kind of doubtful about letting us tackle his hardest room as a first time experience because he wanted us to have a good time. We insisted on doing it anyway. We were off the record time by two minutes which was set by a very experienced group that regularly does escape rooms. We also managed to do it without any hints. Apparently about 80% don't even get out of that particular room within the time limit. He later commented that he'd never seen a group work so well together. He'd often seen some of his rooms have people not speaking with each other by the end of the game. We did another one a few months ago and had tons of fun even though we finished just in time -- we went down one rabbit hole and got hinted that we were looking at the wrong thing.

Our analysis of the experience is that escape rooms help reinforce good team dynamics, and for dysfunctional teams, it may also help highlight where the weak points -- gatekeeper personalities, poor communications, fear of failure, etc.

Sounds like you need to do one of those escape rooms where your lives are truly on the line like in that new movie...

I think you can do it. I believe in you guys! :D/>

I would love to do one.

The good ice cream truck came today, and they let us out of training just to go get some since I talked it up so much lol. <3 Dude likes me, but then again, I'm the only one that got my stuff working.

My morning has already been shitty, later to work than I wanted to be, lost 2/3rd's of my coffee (on me); and a dev is running into an error that I have told him no less than 5 times how to correct. We are supporting testing and he messages that he is getting an error. Dude easily has at least ten years on me in development career, how can you not listen when it has been mentioned how to correct it, not once, not twice, but 6 time now??? My patience is running thin and if it weren't for deadlines, I'd just go, peace out, for today!

I guess our lead BA is back, she has been out for several months due to cancer, so I finally got to meet her. That's a happy occasion. Our RA brought in Panera bagels to celebrate. It's also the dumb tester's going away today, as they're leaving tomorrow I think. Shes the one that has the blank stare every time you tell her to do something, then came back after 3 days of "testing" my card to ask me what the card even was and how to test it. >_>
