Staying inside now after cooking on the grill outside. It was so hot outdoors that my phone turned itself off due to overheating even though it was sitting in the shade just playing music to my Bluetooth speakers. Contemplating re-watching "Dr. Horrible" followed by "The Guild".

I have ribs on the smoker right now and then rain came in. I have a wireless temp probe, so I can monitor it from inside.
Looking at some woodworking tools now. Looking at upgrading the table saw and getting a bandsaw for resawing.

Finally making the switch to Firefox over Chrome. So far it seems to be a super nice browser for both Linux desktop and Android mobile devices. Last time I used it, it had a hard time competing with IE... so it has been a while.

At work with the other winners not taking the day off. It feels like I got left behind on the field trip because I forgot my permission slip and now I have to hang at school with the ubergeekz.

Haha, I at least did a work from home day today. So far only bots have posted in slack other than me... Probably not going to be an overly productive day, me thinks.

Oddly - being out of the office Monday -> Wednesday, and off Thursday - I thought I would have a ton more emails to catch up on.. nope.. only an hour and a half and good to go. Folk must have taken the entire WEEK off.

Yeah, a lot of the office took most of the week off. It was actually funny looking at the vacation calendar as the number of people OOO looked a bit like an x^2 graph. I had originally planned to be one of them as well, but then I had some family stuff come up last month and spent the vacation on that instead. It worked out relatively well as I got added to a project that is behind and wants to ship next week, so I have been able to actually get some work done for it.

Day off. Went up to the library, the bookstore, and the beer store, so basically I'm set for the weekend.

Just made the link in a new integration from our custom CRM data into Zendesk through their API. Now all that is needed is for me to optimize it and see if I can get the processing time down. It is a bit slow for what we are doing (not Zendesk's fault). I just need to run through their batch processing endpoints with higher volumes and prefetch some of our data from the CRM... which is a large bottle neck.
As it stands right now, to process about 80k of user records will take between 16-18 hours. I want to get that down into the range of like 4 hours. I know that if I can stop jumping through a silly tunnel to our CRM that will cut out half the time right there. Then batching records to 100 and then with our 700 requests/min limit cap we should be able to churn through data records a bit faster.
But we will see what happens. At least I have things moving through between systems. That is always a key step in an integration.

Glorious long weekend... caught up on some much needed sleep, did some much needed cleaning around the house, ate some much adored junk food, spent some much overdue time with the SO and the chitlins. Feeling rather refreshed for a Monday morning. Let's see how many hours it lasts...

I could not get any cleaning or sewing done since it was too hot. I was overheating just sitting in my chair. My thermostats finally arrived Sunday, which was noticeably cooler, and it was 85deg F in my room, meaning the rest of the weekend it was 90+ in my room. Even though it was cooler, I still had dance, so after 3.5hrs of dance practice, I had 0 energy left to actually clean. Therefore, my 4 day weekend was pretty disappointing.

My web-based RTE, which I am hoping to eventually compete against Google Docs, Office Online (Word), and quilljs. Using TDD on it, so I have obscene amounts of code coverage. But I also feel it is pretty rock-solid.
