Plinking at some problems... treading water until it's baseball day outting! I think the going rate will be three beers to one water. Four to one, on an empty stomach, a few years back was teetering too far on disaster.

The Golgothan has returned to my basement. Plumber is coming tomorrow. Fuck Roto-Rooter, we're hiring a legitimate plumber this time around.

My daughter will NOT be starting school this fall because she waited until last week to submit her application, hasn't sent her transcripts, and has not yet filed her FAFSA. Freshman orientation was yesterday. Classes start tomorrow. Maybe a semester of watching her friends living college-kid lives and making college-kid friends while she's slogging away at McDonald's 40 hours a week is what she needs to get her ass in gear.

Honestly, it's probably best if she's not in school until she figures out some basics about deadlines and stuff. Bummer for her, I suppose, but a few months is not a big thing in a long life.

What a week.

Was in work last Tuesday and got a text from the other half, she went for a routine check-up for the baby. the message read something like: "Don't panic, they are making me stay in overnight, my blood pressure is high, they are also saying they may have to deliver the baby"...

Bear in mind this at 30 weeks and 6 days, nowhere near the due date!

Long story short, my daughter was born that night on the 6th of August at 23:02, she will be intensive care for the next few weeks but she is doing well and hitting her targets. Back to work today!

I wish the best for your family!

Played some Cities: Skylines last night after all. WAY more complex and has a way higher learning curve. SimCity was way easier and quicker to learn, but lacks in the freedom C:S offers.

@BenignDesign: In the interim, she could possibly take a couple CLEP exams to earn college credit. These are cheaper than paying for a college class, even at community college. If she earns a sufficient score, then she can get 3-4 college credits for something like ~$110 (figure in that the testing center charges a fee on top of the College Board price).

I did this and got out of freshman English as a result. Check the college equivalences and transfer policies before signing up for the exam.

Similarly, Northern Virginia Community College offers a lot of online classes, many of which don't start until late August-mid September. Some even start in October. Perhaps this could be an option. Also, it might be worth checking if a Pennsyltucky community college offers online classes that start a little later.

@maceysoftware - congrats on the new fruit of your loins. As the kewl kids on the Fort-nights say, may your crotch fruit be the l33t35t of all your loin's lineages.

@neo - C:S has better graphics and play-ability.. or at least I remember it as such.

10:01 AM today got an email from the Mobile Contractors (still don't know why we have these) saying that they couldn't test the product because they were not able to log in using their dev credentials.

Checked that credentials were still valid - They are.
Verified what service they were using - Using outdated service, but should still work in development.
Verified the service they were using was pointing at the right environment - It was.
Checked locally that service would return login result - It does.
Verified that they were using correct credentials - They were.
Tried using same path and parameters as them - It failed.
Wrote an entirely new process to manage login and verified that it worked locally - It did.
Verified that new process worked from external access - It failed.

At 1:25 PM I realized I am an idiot...
We had a power cut on Sunday and the servers that house the dev platforms for external access were not restarted...
No lunch for the dunce...

Unrelated, how does one pronounce such a word:

Quote

Pennsyltucky
