[SOLVED] Doable in JS (possibly with help from server-side scripting?)

Posted 04 July 2019 - 04:23 AM

Hello,

I only have shallow experience with Javascript.

Before I go ahead and try to write the script, I'd like to check with the experts whether the following 1) can be done with Javascript possibly with some help with a server-side script in Python or PHP , and 2) without having serious competence in JS :

Call URL through GET on remote www server, and get JSON data back to fill field in form

Prompt user for directory

Loop through *.JPG

For each JPG
	read GPS data from EXIF
reverse gecode to guess street + city names, while letting user modify data
	open pic in page
turn mouse into brush with given color + size, and let user use brush
upload edited pic (from clipboard, or saved on disk) + form to remote www server
find way to mark file as uploaded

If not, I'll look into writing a client-side app in Python + TclTk, but a web app would make it a lot easier for users.

Thank you.

This may be subject to the SOP.

Prompt user for directory

That may pose a security issue, be extremely cautious with what is passed here and validate properly.

And for the questions:

1) yes
2) I tend towards no (image processing on the browser is no easy topic)
