MAX31856

Posted 10 August 2019 - 09:32 AM

Hello,
Has anyone had experience trying to read voltage (mV) from a MAX31856 thermocouple chip? I absolutely can't make sense out of the formula in the datasheet, and can't get a response from Maxim. If anyone knows how to successfully read voltage directly from this chip using python, I would be very grateful for any help!

Do you have it wired right?
Have the right library?
Soldered everything correctly?

Definitely. I am able to read all supported thermocouples correctly. Because I have to use a Type-C (unsupported) thermocouple, I need to read the VOLTAGE (mV) and do the conversion to temperature myself. I just simply don't understand the datasheet, Pp. 20, on how to program the math correctly. The chip itself is working fine. Sorry if I didn't explain clearly.

BTW: All the hardware seems to be working fine. It's just making the reading in mV and programming that crazy equation in python that I don't understand how to do.
