Going full screen issue

Posted 06 September 2019 - 09:02 AM

Hi,

I been asked to add a full screen option to a project (which I didn't originally make)
in Action script 2.I got it to go full screen no probs but the back ground image disappears when in full screen
but fine other wise. Wasn't sure why. Then I narrowed it down to a part in the html

They have this *note I changed the src for posting, I know that's not correct.
<div id="apDiv1">

 <iframe  width="1400" height="800" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http:pathtoimage" ></iframe>
</div>

then they have this which gets called from flash to change the image if need be
function changeBG(the_source){

	document.getElementById("apDiv1").innerHTML = the_source;

Anyway in normal mode the image is placed just fine but I click on the the full screen button the image is gone. Maybe flash is being placed in front of the image when in full screen ?

Any ideas on how to fix this for full screen ?

Thanks.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

If Flash is full screen then the only thing you're going to see is the Flash movie. If you want a background image then that should go in the Flash movie, not a web page.

Hum. I asked why they did the iframe thing and it was "to embed the map code from other html sources like google and bing"

So if I add a movieclip say bg_MC and want "embed" map/image code to it how would I do that ?

Thanks.

There's not a way to embed arbitrary HTML or a web page in a Flash movie that I'm aware of. You said "background image" so I assumed you were talking about an actual image file.

Yes its images but they use html coding for it but would I think it also allowed for map images to be displayed like from good maps or wherever as well. The default image used in src of iframe is something like city.jpg.

So I would I grab an image from a url and set it as background image in flash, or is that even possible ?

Yeah, you can create an image object in Flash, I'm sure you can use a URL as a source. Normally you would just import the image into the library and add it to the stage that way, but you can use a URL if you want.

Google maps is a lot more than images, it's a lot of Javascript to position everything and control the map behavior.

True. Though they want it so the user can change the background as need be with there own images or whatever.

So something like this -
myMC.getURL("http://somesite.com/someimage.jpg")

Thanks.

Yeah, something like that. It looks like you would use a Loader and URLRequest object to take care of it.
