Problems with printf on raspberry pi zero

Posted 06 December 2019 - 09:22 AM

Hello everyone! I am learning armv6 on a Raspberry Pi zero and I have encountered a few problems:

1. I can not use "main" as entry symbol. I need to use "_start". Why is that?

Also it tells me that my reference to "printf" is undefined. I do not understand why.

.text
.global main .extern printf
main:

PUSH {lr}
LDR r0, =textA BL printf
....
....
....
....
....
.end

I have trouble finding the edit function so I decided to double post.

I think I have solved it! I need to use the GCC compiler.
