What I did over the weekend: stuff
What I should have did over the weekend: worked on my deliverable for the website overhaul for a community side project

Realizing that I am now the bottleneck.

Mocking up, planning, a bunch of math, some 3d printing, and estimating on a leather rifle stock cover and sling.

Today - offload a ton of shit for code reviews and maybe some learn'n.

Trying to make sense of an epic that product wants delivered by end of month... unfortunately, the PM decided to be helpful and wrote a bunch of garbage tickets, and as I dig into it I realize that nothing in this has been thought through at all.

Sounds like that PM was following the George R.R. Martin approach to epics.

True, except that Martin has at least some conception of plot and narrative structure.

You need a Masters of Sociology to interact with developers.

Depends on the developer, doesn't it? For some of them I find my experience with Skinner-style operant conditioning is pretty effective.

Today:
interviewing candidates for a front-end role, prepping the next sprint, thinking about the old days when I used to be an engineer.

The word of the day is "janky." As in "this fucking server is so goddamn janky." The new data center has retina scanners though, so I feel like a secret agent when I have to go there. So I've got that going for me. Which is nice.
