I've bought an Acer Aspire 7520-5971, it came with pre installed vista. I have changed to Xp but still haven't found a driver for Xp not even on Nvidia.com.

If anyone could find me an Xp driver for my Graphic card i would be very appreciated, I don't wanna go back to M$ biggest failure (Vista).

I've downloaded that one before, it didn't work.. but thank you for your help.

Nvidia never released an Xp driver for my machines VGA, they want you to use M$ last OS, its part of the agr$$ment, luckily I've found a hacked version of the driver for Xp that is working fine.

Er... You do know that you just go to Nvidia.com, hit "download drivers" then hit "GeForce 7 series" and "Windows XP" and NVidia uses a unified driver, so there's only one download for all the chips in the entire series.

I've been doing that for the last 5 years
Nvidia only released a Vista version of 7000M. You can check the supported GCs plust I've tried it and it didn't work.

yeah i went to Nvidia and couldnt find it either...he had said he'd done that but had to double check...

I just looked, and the list of supported products for the Vista 32-bit and XP drivers are 100% identical.

I don't know about their list but it only works on vista, also if you Google you will find a lot of people who own this laptop are complaining about the same issue.

nVidia or Acer does not make this driver for XP.

But wait... here's your solution.

I have an Acer Aspire 5520 with gefoce 7000m and it works perfectly now.

Download the driver and extract the files. Then download the modded inf file and drop it in the folder overwriting the old one. Click setup and enjoy.

Morphius, just accept that even though i just checked nvidia.com and found that the XP and vista driver are exactly the same also. This must mean that they would be compatible, but how would you know if you never downloaded it and tried to see if it would work. Also, have you tried this thing tht XP has? Its called device manager and it has an option thats called "Update Driver" and can search online automatically. They obviously are mods or admins, i mean look how many posts they have. That means they are smarter than us in everyway.
