I said I would never pay monthly to play, but I was curious and got the $2 trial from the counter of my video store. From that point I was hooked for about 9 months. Finally I quit to use the money elsewhere and I have been trying every free trial I can. City of Hero's is close to WoW but still not the same.

The game mechanics are awesome as are the graphics. I think it is the community that gets you hooked or it was for me. Then comes the drama and that helped in my decision.

I am addicted to WOW. Can't stop without playing it, once the thought of it comes to my mind.

Honestly it's fun for the amount of time I've played which wasn't much, however in the long run it simply takes too much time to invest in. If you have a disgusting amount of free time I'd say go for it, otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.

I said this on another post about WOW. The game is addictive for some people, I know it was for me. I used to play about 8hrs a day. The game is really good but in the long term, you are wasting time and money.

You guys realize if you can find a way to macro this, I have seen people buying high level accounts for actual $. Also, even though I have never played, I have heard of third party servers. Apparently they have no monthly fee.

They also change the game.

For example: 10xp required to hit 70. From level 1. That's one kill. Some of the other mods are faster gold gain or faster experience gain. It's damn near impossible to find a private server that doesn't change the rules in some way.

I've got Guild Wars... Prefer the in-game community of WoW much better. :)

Well i have got the game and had it for well over a year.

I just cancelled my subscription, no reason.
I got it because of the South Park Episode :D

Well i wasnt pleased with it at first with the hour long install and the massive patches. Also the amount of time you gotta play on it to enjoy it more.

After you create a character you like ( Every person likes a different type of character), you will enjoy it. But it is not a individual game, you gotta join a "guild" and you have to talk to people or you WILL get boredvery easily.

Can you tell us what you want to acheive from the game and i can tell you whether it is for you.. PM me please.

Personally I didn't like it because of all the variety of quests. Ha ha that was joke. Theres only a couple types of quests and quite frankly its a grindtastic grindfest. I would appreciate it more if the quests were actually interesting but they aren't. Too many Kill X for Y missions. I heard all the real action comes at Level 70 but I decided that BF2142 would be more fun to grind on :).

I got to say, I think its worth 15$ a month for WoW. Idk why but its better than most games I played of that quality.

You may reach lvl 40-50 on your own with the quests,
or join up with a few friends and the raids an other intresting stuff.

As a game alone its worthless and rubbish..
As a game You play with your friends, is more like a real experience.

The trick of the game, is that alone You will get bored, and will be limited.
No way You can manage any fun quests alone, nor raids..

So, when people team up, and play the game togather, they have roles to fullify, like tank, DPS,healer, and so on.
Each character type needs special equipment to be good at a role, and those things are hard to get, mostly impossible alone.

So most times when You go on a raid with Your friends, You won't do it for Your self. But to help Your mates get some better equipment, therefore as a whole You guys will get stronger.

Not to mention professions, is kind of good thing when Your friends go and get needed stuff for You, and in exchange You can enchant the battle gear they have. And sooooo on.

Try to think of it this way. As a game alone, is not worth it..
Is borring..

until You level up to.. say lvl 20-30 You will get to know people, and get familiar with the world of warcraft. Afterwards whatever You do, You will be limited alone. So You pick up Your friends, and fight for glory togather, and afterwards go and fight against living people @ PVP.
