It sounds like a complete n00b question, but this folder on my desktop just won't delete. I had it as a target for various internet download programs (Trillian, BitLord, Firefox) and I already redirected those downloads to another folder. It wont even let me rename the folder. It doesn't give me a message when I try to delete either, it just flashes and stays on my desktop. I'm hoping that I'm not a complete idiot and there actually is something wrong. Please help if you guys can. Thanks in advance.

Make sure that you can view hidden files & system files. There maybe a file inside of the folder that is open, & there for you can't delete it.

Once you can verify that there is nothing in the folder, try booting into safe mode & removing it.

Let us know how that works out.

Hello Andy, welcome to </dream.in.code>!

My recommendation would be to get a program called "unlocker", it will get all the processes that are accessing the file or folder, and "un-lock" them, thus enabling you to delete it!

Ok, I downloaded Eraser and ran that, that seemed to get rid of it. Thanks a ton for the help though. That folder would have annoyed me forever.

well...the next time the easier way would be to format your entire computer and start entirely from scratch
