Im holding off from SP1 until some of the driver issues are worked out. Now they are not very wide spread but I would rather not deal with problems right now.
Reading over the release notes last week I was not extremely impressed nor surprised. Their is more back end things they are correcting and not much that will impact the end user to greatly (they wont notice). I do like some of the administrative improvements but besides that it was ok.
Im still going to install it because its good practice, but people that decide not to wont suffer to much at the time.
Vista SP1 released todayThis is a needed upgrade for Vista users, in my opinion!

Well I finally broke down and installed SP1 for Vista, and I must say that Im a little impressed. My memory usage dropped from around 1300MB constantly to below 850MB. I have yet to experience any driver issues. There is a website that lists all the hardware that is having driver issues, even the driver version that is having the issue.
I didn't update any of my hardware drivers and haven't had any issues as of yet. Ill let you know if I run into any.
Also, if your computer is going to have any driver issues SP1 wont even be available to you in Windows Updates, just thought Id let you know that

Installed it on my notebook last week, and my Vista box at work yesterday, no problems with either.

Just finished installing it. Everything works fine so far, took about 40 Minutes!
I can definitely see a change in memory usage, it's much lower! Computer is running faster too!

I will more then likely install it next week. Want to give it a little more time on my test machine before upgrading my main rig.
I am interested to see what it dose with my memory. I got 4gb right now and its not using much. So we will have to see.

Wow all of the people here had no problems. I guess I was one of the few that will have problems. My SP1 won't install. It downloads and then installs up to about 99% and stops because of an error code 80073712. I sent an email to microsoft tech support and visited some other forums but not much help yet. My OS came preinstalled on my laptop so I don't have the Vista install disk to reinstall the system thinking that would fix the errors. Any Ideas from anyone on here?

Maybe your system just cannot handle the new SP1 upgrade. I heard from somewhere(probably this site if not this thread) that SP1 won't download correctly without all of the necassary hardware.

It won't come up in Windows Update if the user's hardware does not support it.

Right, it downloads fine, just when it goes to install the download it stops after about 99% on the progress bar. I've done it 5 times now and I'm going to give up on it for now until microsoft will contact me, at least my system is working fine as it is.

This is a semi old card and it doesn't have support for Vista. I have this lovely little "satelitte dish" for wifi that works with Vista, but i haven't gotten around to actually getting the vista driver yet.
