video audio format

hi, please i need to know how a video and audio are stored on the computer as 0101.. i need to know this because i want to extract the audio from a video and compare it to another audio so any ideas...

What do you mean by compare?
If you need to extract some audio from images attached to it you just grab some program that suports editing both (soundforge for instance), cut the audio, paste it in a new file and save it as whichever audio format you may choose. You dont need to know how the thing is stored in binary code for that.
I hope that was useful. Maybe I got you wrong anyways.
