linux driver

I can't seem to get this Radioshck usb to serial cable installed. I've tried extracting the driver by installing it in wine (because it wouldnt extract with unzip and installing via ndiswrapper with no luck it just doesnt see a com port.????? Im stuck

a microcontroller board.A BASIC Stamp to be exact. when i use the code transfer program and go to identify the board it shows "no com ports availible"
