Gentoo LiveCD on Compaq Presario C700

Posted 22 April 2008 - 06:55 PM

For some reason it appears my laptops system fan turns off once the Gentoo Live environment starts.
My system gets too hot on the left side so i halt the system so it can cool. Wtf?

Is there a command i can use to start my fan again?
I want to get gentoo running on my laptop but i can't even install because i am afraid i will fry my mobo.

Thanks for reading!
Please help!

Inside your system BIOS can you turn any auto detect settings for the fans?
