monitor / display settings trouble!

ok, so I just bought a new 21.6" samsung monitor... I've been messing with the settings, tried every one. I've installed the driver and all that jazz too. BUT Everything is still stretched! I know there is a way to fix it, but it just won't seem to get on the right settings. It's hooked into my laptop (which isn't widescreen) but I know there is still a way to make it not be all stretched like this.

ANY ideas? It's driving me crazy! I hate seeing pictures and stuff stretched like this!

nevermind. installed a different driver and it worked perfectly! thank you!
