I didn't have any problems picking it up either. All the GameStops and stores around where I live were anticipating a ton of people for the mid night release and most the the stores only got a few people. I picked mine up after work the next day.

Some guy got slashed in the back of the head with a knife while waiting in line, and was bleeding - everyone just thought it was a publicity stunt. The guy who got slashed went home, got his own knife, went back and slashed the guy. Dunno if this is true, really can't remember where I heard it, but aren't people getting a little carried away? Granted GTA kicks ass, but does it really require mindless violence just because there's someone in front of you in a queue?

So I had bought it for the PS3 and been playing it for a good number of hours over this last weekend. I was surprised to see how similar it was to the past games. At times I felt like I was playing Vice City but with enhanced graphics. The cops still swarm the hell out of you in this game and it really puts a damper on the game play a little. You can't get in a standard fist fight behind some building without all of sudden the cops are all over you like a fly on rice.

Still it is quite a bit of fun and have been getting use to it a bit before I got multiplayer. Wouldn't want to look like a total ass stumbling around as I figure out the controls again.

Went to a strip club and got in a fight with the bouncers, crashed a perfectly good limo, ran over like 10 civilians in 2 seconds using an ambulance, and attempted to elude police while getting to the next island which is still forbidden to me.... did all this on a moped mind you. Oh and I went bowling with my new girlfriend Michelle, but then scared her because I accidentally fired my gun.

I can tell I have quite a bit of stuff I can do and it certainly will be fun. Just to let all of you out there who have yet to get the game, it certainly entertaining.

I have the money - I am debating on whether or not to waste it on a PS3, XBox and GTA IV or use it for something else. and I mean I am seriously debating this.

You know for 50.00 more though with the PS3 I can have a 40gb HD vs 20 gb.

I see no need for more than that. Can you even save games on the Arcade version. Because honestly I am not too impressed with the XBOX considering everyone on the face of the earth experiences red rings of death with it, and the PS3 comes with the BluRay player.

well i guess its all in what you want to do with it. If you want a blue ray player then i would go with the PS3. its a tough decision.

I got it. It feels like I am playing crazy taxi, with a gun. I like how it looks (PS3), but I am having trouble getting used to the way you have to shoot at people. It might be because I have spent a ton of time playing COD4.

I really like when you get drunk and can't stand up. I just don't get how the cops are on to you when you are driving and in a straight line. I can go 90 and blow through stop lights, but as soon as I get need a cop and have had some Vodka, they are on you.

I will give it ***1/2 out of *****.

Bought the 360 and GTA IV - Spent pretty much all of last night picking fights with people. Its nothing more than a souped up version of San Andreas so far with way better graphics. I'll give it a 4/5 so far....

So I was playing GTA IV the other day and beating the sh*t out of some innocent moron who was hanging on his stoop and I hurt him but let him limp away, he hobbled over to a bridge that the train used to cross the river over to the island that resembles Manhattan. Now not being far enough along to go over there without achieving a 6 star rating I followed limpy about halfway across the bridge before I received a 6 star and helicopters were everywhere.

Soon realizing they were on to me but couldn't get to me I proceeding on killing limpy and hopped on the tracks and finished crossing the bridge. Homeless people were everywhere but no cops, so I hung out there for a while and still no cops. Ok so I lurked around the tunnels and darkness for a bit before venturing off into the city entranceway from the sub-station where I was greeting with a hail of bullets.

The moral of this story was I made it to the island unauthorized and it was fun to exploit that, they cannot get you while on the bridge or the tracks.

Just thought I would share that with my fellow GTA'ers

BTW - how long did it take everyone to bang Michelle? I nailed her 2nd date.

GTA IV kicks ass. I love calling the cops to distract the goons during missions. Helps you finish missions without getting a wanted level and sometimes even without firing a bullet.
