Found this early last week over on Hard|OCP. Guess gamers don't see Macs in the same light as many developers do, wonder why?

And as for all the gamers, did you ever think that Apple might just not care about your segment. They care about people that actually get stuff done, not spend 20 hours a day building up their character in everquest.

And who are gamers? Kids? That have no money?
What market segment do all big companies not care about? Kids? That have no money?

Will someone please show me a Microsoft Windows ad that tells me how awesome games will be on their new OS (any OS is fine).

ACTUALLY the average gamers age is something like 23 or 24. older than YOU.

But most companies target the 30-45 woman catagory. So it doesn't matter if they are 16 or 23.

im pretty sure most games aren't targetted at 30-45 year old women. unless your talkin about mac's.... in which case i believe that we can now attribute their marketing to their small market share.

because nowadays most women that age have a 9-5 job

No, sloth, my point is that Apple doesn't give a fuck about gamers because gamers 1. don't have the money, and 2. have never used macs. So, instead of rowing a boat up stream, they take care of the people that 1. have money, and 2. use macs, how? Institutions, Artists, Musicians, Filmmakers. What do all these people have in common? They are 1. not gamers, and 2. rely on Macs for their "Business". This is why Macs don't have the game market that PCs do. Also, as much as IBM would like to think that they make the best "Business" machines, I"m willing to bet more people use Macs for work than for personal pleasure.

So, if you want to play games, PC are superior because that's what people have done on them and lots are built for them (You don't need a P4 2.6 ghz, w/2g ddr and a geforce 4 to work in excel or word). Which brings us back to my first post, stop bitching about Macs not having game support and have fun in XP.

Besides, those people Neo mentioned can afford to also buy a P4 2.6 ghz, w/2g ddr and a geforce 4 if theyare gamers. Money may not buy happiness, but it can buy lots and lots of toys.

1 gamers do have money. after all why the hell would I pay 3000 for a laptop that wouldent play games. see area 51-m review
